2025 was not only a year of financial results. Above all, it was a year in which the foundation for the future of the fund was further strengthened.

Preparations for the new pension scheme entered a decisive phase. The implementation plan was submitted to DNB and the communication plan to the AFM. The AFM had no substantive comments on the communication plan. This marked an important milestone in the formal transition process and shifted the focus from planning to execution.

Managing risks
The transition is about far more than legal or technical changes alone. It is an operation in which everything comes together: administration, investments, communication and decision-making. That is why 2025 was also strongly focused on risk management.

Throughout the year, SSPF continuously identified and managed risks related to the transition. These included risks involving data quality, IT systems, communication and the implementation of the new scheme. Within SSPF, this is managed through fixed controls, clear responsibilities and a continuous process of monitoring and adjustment.

Data quality
One of the most important preconditions for a successful transition is reliable data quality. The transition to the new pension scheme must be carried out correctly in one go. In 2025, SSPF once again confirmed that its data quality was in good order.

At the same time, this remains an ongoing priority. It is not only about correcting data where necessary, but also about ensuring the quality remains consistently high in the future.

Complex transition projects
Important steps were also taken in day-to-day execution. Asset management was transferred to a new provider, while further work continued on setting up systems and processes for the new pension scheme. These are complex projects involving many different parties that all need to move together and align their activities carefully. Managing this coordination forms a significant part of the overall transition effort.

Focus on communication
At the same time, participants remained central throughout the process. The transition to the new pension scheme means that pension choices will become more personal in the future. That is why SSPF continued to invest significantly in communication and guidance, including through the CARE programme and webinars followed by thousands of participants. This approach is clearly appreciated. Participants rated SSPF with an 8.6, while personal guidance received even higher scores.

Europe’s best corporate pension fund
These efforts also received recognition outside the fund itself. SSPF was internationally recognised as Europe’s best corporate pension fund. This recognition is not only based on financial performance, but also on the combination of policy, execution and communication.

Confidence
2025 showed just how extensive the transition to the new pension scheme really is. While preparing for the transition, SSPF also had to ensure that investments, administration, IT systems and communication continued to operate reliably and smoothly. Despite all these changes, participant confidence remained high.

In short:
2025 was the year in which the future was not only designed, but also carefully brought into execution.
